Hartford is an alternate airport to Boston and the New England area (Website: http://www.bradleyairport.com/home/ ). It's 1 hr 45 min drive to Boston and 2 hr 30 min drive to New York from Hartford. If you need something to do in Hartford, I suggest the Mark Twain House (Website:
http://www.marktwainhouse.org/ ) where Mark Twain and his family lived in this 19-room mansion on Farmington Avenue from 1874-1891. Many rooms are lavishly decorated. Or you can visit the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center and House (Website: http://harrietbeecherstowe.org/ )
which is the home of the best-selling author of the anti-slavery novel “Uncle Tom’s Cabin.” Or near downtown is Bushnell Park with trails and a carousel (Website: http://www.bushnellpark.org/ ) that was built in 1914. It's located by the State Capitol Building where you can find many nice restaurants. Two of the best are the City Steam Brewery (Website: http://www.citysteambrewerycafe.com/ ), where you should sit at the bar and enjoy talking to Lindsey. Try the White Wedding Beer. Also you can visit the Brew Ha Ha Comedy Club (Website:
http://www.citysteambrewerycafe.com/com_history.html ). The second restaurant to visit is Salute (Website: http://www.salutect.com/ ), where you'll find great Italian food and an awesome happy hour. Conneticut is one of 24 states that do not have a major sports team; so, you're stuck going to plays, musicals, and concerts. The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts is the place in downtown Hartford (Website:
http://www.bushnell.org/ ) to see Broadway plays.

Hartford is a nice place to visit for a day or two.
